Read until the very end to find out all the latest information about the Gabby Petito case.
Gabby Petito - The Start Of The Journey
According to media reports both Gabby and Brian grew up in Blue Point on Long Island in New York but they lived together in North Port, Florida, with Laundrie’s parents for over a year. The two of them had set out on their dream road trip, visiting different national parks, in June in Gabby’s Ford Transit van and they had hoped to reach a friend’s house in Portland, Oregon by Halloween. In July the couple had traveled through Colorado and into Utah, as it was documented on Petito’s Instagram, when on July 10th they were at Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve in Duncan, Colorado, and later just a little over two weeks later Gabby posted a photo from Mystic Hot Springs in Monroe, Utah.
Gabby Petito - Police Involvement
Their journey continued without any known issues until August 12th when police in Moab, Utah had reported responding to an “incident” that had involved a domestic dispute between Gabby and Brian. The Grand County, Utah, Sheriff’s Office had released a 911 recording in September, in which a caller had claimed that he witnessed Laundire allegedly “slapping” Petito and chasing her up and down a sidewalk in Moab while hitting her. In the recording, the caller whose identity has not been revealed claimed that he saw this happen on the main street between a couple that was driving a white van with Florida license plates.
Gabby Petitio & Brian Laundrie - Stopped By Police
As per media reports, Moab Police Department Chief Bret Edge had said that his officers had responded to the incident. They located the van and pulled the couple over. Later, they released body-cam footage of the stop and wrote a report that the couple which was identified as Petitio and Laundrie, admitted to arguing and that Gabby had slapped her boyfriend though they also added that he did not hit her back. As the report revealed at the officer’s suggestion the couple separated for the night, it had also described the 22-year-old as “confused and emotional”. However, after having evaluated the circumstances the responding officer Daniel Robbins did not believe the situation had escalated to the level of domestic assault as much as that of a mental health crisis. And so, no charges were filed.

Gabby Petitio - Last Days She Was Seen
On August 19th the pair had published their first video to their YouTube channel ‘Nomadic Statik’ titled "VAN LIFE: Beginning Our Van Life Journey”. In the video Gabby blogs about their adventures while living in their white van and the couple is seen as very affectionate on camera. According to police reports, the last time that Petito was seen alive was on August 24th, checking out of a hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. The blogger’s family told police that they were last in contact with her around the last week of August and before the last communication she was believed to have been in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. In a press conference, the police have released a timeline of the last days of communication that she had with her family. On August 24th, Gabby FaceTimed her mom and told her she was leaving Utah and heading to the Teton range. The following day the two exchanged multiple texts. On 27th, there were more texts between them with the Petito family believing that she was still in the Tetons. The final bit of communication was on August 30th when her family received a text that read “No service in Yosemite” however as the police revealed, they doubt it was sent by their daughter.
Brian Laundrie - Returns Homes
That was the last time that anyone has heard from Gabby. Then on September 1st, according to police reports, her boyfriend Brian Laundrie returned to their North Port home. He had returned back in Petito’s white van. However, it wasn’t until 10 days later that the blogger’s family had reported her missing to the Suffolk County Police. In the report, they stated that she stopped communicating with her friends and family and that they believed she was near Grand Teton National Park. Since his return, Brian did not speak with the police or anyone else, and on September 14th the Laundrie family released a statement that said that Brian would remain silent under the advice of his counsel.
Brian Landrie - Person Of Interest
It didn’t take long for the North Port Police to name Laundrie as a “person of interest”, stating that as of September 15th he has not made himself available to be interviewed by investigators and has not provided any helpful details. It was then this Brian’s lawyer revealed that he told him to not speak with law enforcement as in his experience, intimate partners are often the first person suspected in a case like this. The Petito family had reached out to Brian’s own one with a statement that read: “Please, if you or your family have any decency left, please, tell us where Gabby is located. Tell us if we are looking in the right place. All we want is for Gabby to come home. Please help us make that happen.” And while for many it seemed that the Laundrie family would not budge on these requests on September 17th they had contacted police asking them to come to their home as they have not seen Brian since the 14th.
Brian Laundrie - Missing As Well
Right away, this information had in the minds of people on the internet meant that Brian is guilty. Yet that was something that North Port police were quick to announce was not the case. Taking to their social media they stated that it was important to note that while he is a person of interest in Gabby’s disappearance he is not wanted for a crime. They stressed that right now they are not working on a crime investigation but multiple missing persons investigations. More than 50 officers accompanied by FBI agents, drones, K-9 and bloodhounds had been searching for Laundrie in over 25,000 of a nature preserve after a tip from the family drive law enforcements to the Carlton Reserve.
Gabby Petito - Body Found In Search Case
Around the same time that the police has been investigating Brian’s disappearance, the FBI announced that the agency and its partner were also conducting a ground search of the Teton National Park that has been relevant to Gabby’s disappearance as that is the place that her family believes she was last in. During this time many internet users had claimed that the chances of finding the blogger alive now were growing slimmer. And it was as if their speculations were confirmed on Sunday the 19th of September when the Teton County, Wyoming, coroner had confirmed that a body was recovered in the Bridger-Teton National Park. Upon the discovery, the FBI released a statement that revealed that the human remains that they found were “consistent with the description” of Petito but before people could report that she had been found, they added that a full forensic identification has not yet been completed and that no cause of death has been determined. However, as Fox News reported the 22-year-old blogger was one of three people missing near Grand Teton National Park this summer.
Laundrie Family Questioned
Most recent reports have revealed that Brian’s parents had been escorted outside of their property while agents carried out a search warrant from which they took some evidence with them. Later the Laundrie’s were brought back in for questioning by the FBI inside of their home and allegedly their home is not being treated like a crime scene. North Port police had revealed that they had called off the manhunt for Gabby’s boyfriend in the Carlton Reserve as they have exhausted all their avenues. As of the publication of this article no further information was given about the whereabouts of Brian or with regards to the body found in the Wyoming National Park.
